So when did you find out about having Klinefelter's?

I was 10 and I was on my way to Great Ormond Street on the train and that's when my mum told me I had KS and I strangely said that I always knew I was different. It's quite funny. I was a bit young. I just felt inside I guess.

What was if like when you were a child?

All images of Thom courtesy of the Wellcome Trust Medical Photographic LibraryI was bullied from like quite an early age. My first, like, I don't know what year it was, years ago, I moved school because of it, because I think I was quite fat and stuff. But look at me now, I'm alright. When I was about 14 I got gynaecomastia which wasn't very good because I was a bit self conscious of myself. I think it was cos I was like really sensitive. Actually, I can't remember, about seven years old it started. And then I left my school at eleven and moved to boarding school.

How did you get on at secondary school?

Oh, well I had trouble settling in... as the years went on I got more friends, but then at 14 as I said I got breast development and I didn't get that cleared until I was 16 so those whole 2 years I was just like really self conscious. I had swimming and I'd just like try and get off games, because games was compulsory. And that's only because they want you to get fit. Which is fair enough. I could fully understand that.
