Interview with Kylie's Sister Carlene

When did you find out that Kylie had Turner's?

All images appear courtesy of the Wellcome Trust Medical Photographic LibraryI think I got told when I was about five or six. I didn't really understand it, but I knew she was different, she wasn't like everybody else. She wasn't like strange or anything like that, she was just my little sister and I was very very protective over her. Nobody was allowed anywhere near her. She was mine.

How do you get on now?

All images appear courtesy of the Wellcome Trust Medical Photographic LibraryJust like normal sisters. We have our moments, we fight with each other. But most of the time we get on. We've got a really good relationship. So just normal lives really. Nothing's different between us. It's like any other normal sisters.

Do you think it's made any difference to your family life?

All images appear courtesy of the Wellcome Trust Medical Photographic LibraryI don't think we've missed out, I think we've had just the same kind of chances like you would if there wasn't anything wrong with her. There's nothing really... we've had more experiences because we've been involved in more things than what we would have done if she didn't have Turner's, she probably wouldn't have been a gymnast, I probably wouldn't be doing what I'm doing now and all that sort of stuff. Nothing really bad has ever happened because of it. Everything's been good since she came along. Nothing bad.
